Here is the second cake (and cupcakes) I did while visiting AZ:
I was very limited on pans since I didn't bring any of my own with me, so I went with a mini cake and matching cupcakes, since it was a kid's birthday party after all. It was not easy transfering these babies in the middle of the summer in Phoenix, AZ, let me tell you! Once again, the pictures aren't so great because I had to take them on my phone.

Spongebob
While I was pregnant with my son, my husband left for deployment, and I moved back home to AZ for 6 months. I had the opportunity to attend to of my younger cousin's birthday parties and make their cakes!
The first cake I did was a spongebob cake:

Since my husband took the camera with him, I had to take these pictures with my iphone so they aren't the best quality (and my pregnancy brain didn't notice that I was casting a shadow over the cake). However, the cake turned out exactly like I hoped it would!

Home-made hostess cupcakes
I found a recipe for cream filled cupcakes covered with ganache, and I just had to decorate them with the classic white swirl!
Just finished- frosting still warm
Ganache set- don't they look like the real thing?
Yes, they were just as good as they look!

Steps to cover a cake in fondant
Disclaimer: This is no tutorial.. Its not very detailed.
A few months ago, I was asked to help make a wedding cake! So I decided to practice covering a cake in fondant and take photo's along the way.
Two strawberry cakes stacked and leveled.
Filled and iced with buttercream frosting.
Covered in fondant and placed on a board.
Ta da!
