At the end of last summer, my husband went on a two week trip out to sea before his ship went into dry dock, and I surprised him with this cake. It was my first attempt at covering a cake with fondant, and I think it ended up going pretty well. I used pre-made fondant, but I think I am going to make my own from now on because it was really hard to work with.

I love it! I am going to be doing a welcome home cake for my boyfriend when he gets home this month. I've never made a cake with fondant. I hope it works =]
